Vollrath 318433 Details
Add the Vollrath 318433 refractometer to your kitchen supplies to precisely determine the sugar content of foods. Used to measure the light refraction in food, a refractometer helps determine when you’ve reached the right sugar content to pick fruits for the perfect sorbets and fruit juices. Its aluminum construction and rubber grip ensure durability and comfort. Plus, it comes with a soft, protective case to keep it safe from grease or food splatters in your busy kitchen!
Using the % Brix measuring system, this refractometer determines concentrations between 0% and 32%, making it ideal for foods such as sorbets, ice creams, and fruit juice concentrates. It has an accuracy of 0.2% so you can be sure of the results. This device even has ATC, or automatic temperature compensation, for the most precise readings. Keep this tool in your kitchen to determine the sugar content of your delicious foods and serve the best product possible every time.
This refractometer is easy to use and calibrate. To use, open the cover plate and put one or two drops of the solution to be measured onto the prism. Close the cover plate and press it lightly. Holding the refractometer tube, aim the prism end in the direction of a bright light. Through the eye piece the light and dark limit should read above zero to the actual reading of the measured solution.
After measurement, clean the remaining liquid off the surface of the prism and cover plate with a damp cloth and allow to dry. Do not wash with water to avoid potential water damage. Store in a dry, clean, non-corrosive environment. Do not touch optical surfaces.
